Olympiacos have reportedly reached an agreement with Congo international forward Lomana LuaLua, who was expected in Athens on Friday in order to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a deal of around 3 million euros.
The Greek giants appear to have lost interest in Cesar Delgado, after Cruz Azul said that they will not even discuss a possible move of the young Argentinean international striker, and now are looking forward to complete the deal with Portsmouth for the 26-year-old Congolese, who is coming in Piraeus to replace Mexican star Nery Castillo.
According to Greek media, LuaLua will earn around 1 million a year at the Greek champions.
The Premiership outfit have yet to confirm the reports but manager Harry Redknapp revealed that LuaLua is indeed interested in a move away from the English championship.
"I think Lua feels he would like a change," Redknapp told BBC.
"Maybe he would like to go and play abroad somewhere. At the moment though, that could or could not happen, we will have to wait and see," he continued.
Despite the fact that he moved to London with his parents as a youngster he was called to the national team of Congo and became their captain in 2004.
He started his career from Colchester United and later joined Newcastle in 2000 before moving on loan to Portsmouth in February 2004. That summer he made a permanent move to Pompey worth £1.7m.
He has scored 28 goals in 161 appearances during his Premiership career.
